– 2 oz fresh lime juice

– 4 oz. Kahlua

Preparation: Shake first three ingredients with ice and strain into a shot glass. Enjoy responsibly, the drunken noodles way! Pronounced (drun-ken noh-duls). Have you ever wondered why Kahlua is so expensive than other liqueurs but doesn’t taste as good? There’s actually an interesting story behind its recipe dating back to World War II era in Mexico . During this time, Americans troops frequented Mexican bars whenever they needed some relief from war tensions – relax their minds, drink and have some fun.

The Mexican bars served them their popular drink, the Margarita. However, because of the lack of ingredients, the bartenders had to get creative and substitute certain ingredients such as lime juice with lemon juice, and tequila with Kahlua. And so, the Kahlua coffee liqueur was born!

Since then, Kahlua has become a well-known and popular liqueur all over the world. It is mostly used in cocktails or enjoyed on its own as a shot. So the next time you’re at the liquor store, why not give Kahlua a try? You might just find yourself enjoying its unique flavor profile!

Chocolate:  We found milk chocolate chips at our local grocery store, but you can also pick up some baking chocolate , which has a higher percentage of cocoa for an even stronger shot.

The fruit flavoring is fairly easy to find. We saw it in the baking aisle next to other extracts and flavorings at our store. You can also try looking near paprika or red food coloring . If you’re planning on using the fruit flavors for other cooking projects, check out buying them online, where you can get even more exotic varieties like strawberry banana . And if you really want to go crazy with your shots, take a look at these fruit powders that are made specifically for creating alcoholic beverages. Also note that if you can’t find a specific flavor, you can always use vanilla extract as a substitute.

Sugar:  We used granulated sugar for our recipe, but if you’d like to make things a little bit fancier (or have a sweeter tooth), you could try using something like powdered sugar or even honey .

Salt:  We used kosher salt in our recipe, but if you don’t have that on hand, any type of salt will do. Just make sure it’s fine grain so that it dissolves easily.

Water:  Just tap water will work here.

Now that you’ve got all of the ingredients, it’s time to start your shots!
