My Engine Coolant Hot Warning Lamp – What is This?

Engine coolant is one of the most important things for any car. Your engine might burn out if the coolant level drops. When you go over 50 miles per hour, got stuck in rush hour traffic. Then all of a sudden engine coolant hot warning lit up.

I’m driving my Lexus SC with the automatic transmission. I normally drive fine, but the last week, I had an overheating problem and the engine started smoking as soon as I put it in gear. The mechanic that worked on it suggested that I get a new engine coolant. So I took it to my auto parts store and they sent me a trailblazer six-cyl injection kit, engine scan tool, and checked the radiator.

I didn’t see any leaks when I took it out from the box. So I called my mechanic to look it over and he said, “There is a leak in the engine cooling system, you may have a valve that is open.” So I asked him what could have caused this valve. He explained that the car was built with a new engine architecture. The shift position in the manual transmission was also changed and that the engine cooling system was also built on the new architecture. He said that he did not know why the valve failed, but he checked the valve and could see no leaks.

 

So I brought my car in and after doing an inspection of the engine, I found that the power steering pump had failed. My next step is to change the engine cooling system part and see if it fixes the problem. I checked the last engine component, the battery. I discovered that the battery cable assembly had also failed, which could be the reason for the alarming sounding “engine cool system problem of the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer” warning light.

 

Now all I have to do is figure out the cause of my problem. I pulled out my owner’s guide and found the parts I needed to replace in my engine. Because that’s why I came to the car fair in the first place, I know that I must check my engine light. I have a low oil pressure warning and I know that I need to check my engine coolant level. My last engine cooling system problem that I checked was the battery cable assembly.

 

My failure date was actually three week before the “engine cooling problem of the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer” warning light. Three weeks is quite a time without a warning light. I don’t have to worry about the engine cooling system because I bought a new HPI ignition. My next concern is: Why did I visit a mechanic?

 

I took it to my local GM Service Center to be checked. Although they didn’t have the ability to fix my problem immediately, the representative explained that my problem was caused by the alternator. They then offered to give me a special type of battery for my vehicle that I would have to purchase in order to have this engine warning light go off. I said I would think about it but decided to purchase the battery they recommended and continue my journey.

 

After going through the dealer’s manual and checking online, I found that the most common causes of the engine warning light are: The disconnection of the battery cables, the failure of either the PCV valve or the heater core, and the failure of an alternator spark plug, to name a few. With these three items, it’s pretty easy to see that you can easily remedy your problem. Replacing the PCV valve and heater core won’t help, but will prevent the problem of the failure of the alternator spark plug.

When checking engine coolant levels, there are several different things that can give you a different sign than a normal one. Other times when the engine gets an “engine hot” instead of the usual “coolant message”, get an unusual “fog up” message instead. These messages change depending on what you do. You can turn the thermostat up or off, and even freeze the engine. These are the main signs that can help you identify the problem.

Engine coolant hot – There is a very simple reason why this happens. Sometimes the pressure in the coolant is so low, it just doesn’t reach the correct operating pressure needed to keep the car running cool. If it’s below the normal safety levels, then the mix with the coolant is too old. It should be at least 95% coolant to ensure proper operation of all the components of the engine. The gauge warning tells you exactly what the coolant level is.

 

Overheating of the fan belt – Another common reason for the engine coolant hot warning is the buildup of condensation inside the heater element. This can be caused by the re-circulation of water into the vehicle’s system, especially if your heater ducts have been clogged with dried ice. This can be resolved by simply opening the valve on your heater so more condensation can evaporate into the airflow. Again, check the pressure in your system and make sure your radiator cap is open and clear.

 

Check the idle speed. If your idle speed is low, especially in cold weather, it could also be due to low engine coolant hot. The idle speed sensor, a car accessory, can be used to check the speed of your vehicle’s fan or blower. The idle speed monitor can also tell you how fast your engine is running. It’s usually located near the firewall or back in the engine compartment.

 

Bad thermostat or regulator – If you find that your engine coolant hot is associated with a bad thermostat or faulty regulator, then there might be a problem with the radiator. This will usually be fixed with the help of a professional. First, disconnect the thermostat and radiator. Next, you will have to disconnect the electric supply to your radiator. The thermostat is then unbolted from its mounting brackets and removed.

 

Your car is constantly overheating – If your vehicle keeps heating up while in the blue zone, it should be checked. An abnormally high temperature reading on your gauge’s temperature gauge will be indicated. The gauge will also indicate if the engine is hot. The red zone will indicate that the engine is very hot and may require some engine coolant to get the engine operating at normal operating temperatures again. If you find that there is a problem with your radiator, it should be replaced.

 

Your car is constantly leaking oil – This could be a sign that your mechanic needs to inspect the fluid level and type. This may also indicate a problem with your radiator or the antifreeze. If either of these are the problem, a professional mechanic will replace them. Your car keeps overheating because of inadequate coolant and a low oil pressure gauge reading. This is something that is very common amongst Dodge Ram cars.

 

Your car keeps overheating because your engine coolant is inadequate – It may not be feasible for a layman to determine if the level of coolant is sufficient and therefor not enough antifreeze or oil is required to keep your car running hot. It is important that your engine coolant is checked by a mechanic. Your engine coolant levels will show a constant decrease in efficiency over a period of time, which means that your engine is working harder than it should. This results in overheating, and the mechanic will be able to tell you what exactly is going wrong with your engine coolant supply. If the readings are high and you do have an issue, it will require a large amount of repair work, which could end up costing you ten thousand dollars or more, and if you do have a bent engine because of the excessive overheating, then it will require replacement of the entire radiator system.
